you're overlooking the oppies on issue.

this is an important point, so it is worth getting it right:

MNM ann 19/3/12 says MB has 26 584 920 shares, and 3 704 672 oppies for a combined voting (on ops conversion) potential of 30 289 592.

the 3B dated 6/3/12 shows 242 304 151 heads, and 52 106 759 oppies on issue in MNM - total = 294 410 910.

10% of this = 29.4 million. MB topped up to 30.2 million from 29.8 million last month. Allowing for the recent trend to issue shares in lieu of fees I think the argument that he is keeping at least a 10% takeover blocking stake is valid. to say he was 'well and truly over it' is wrong, her was just over before he topped up.

But why does he feel the need to control and t/o offer?

because he is too smart to trust the handshake deal behind the scenes from exergen. why else.
