I learned that lesson a few months back chasing the IXR price down. You get to the point where you have so many that the difference becomes negligible.
That is why I wrote my own software to keep track of what my average is across all purchases factoring including brokerage. That way I can add a fabricated purchase and see exactly what it is going to do to my overall purchase price.
