Lynch mentions defence quite often now, and VAC supplies the US DOD and its contractors Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Boeing for their NdFeB and SmCo.
Keep in mind that multiple Lockheed Martin business units have been banned by China for any rare earth exports, due to alleged theft of rare earths out of China, with CIA involvement, and used Taiwan arm supplies as an excuse. They NEED an alternative secure source of rare earths yesterday.
And now, VAC will have an ex China supply of Te and Dy as well, fed by Ionic Tech.
These rare earths are crucial to stabilise magnets in high temp applications, usually in high performance, high torque motors.
We also know we will supply Ford directly with LCM and now with VAC, we will also supply GM, the US DOD for UAV's and the F35, as well as other defence systems. For reference, each F35 has nearly 1000lbs of rare earths in it.
So, I guess now Lynch will have his wish by proxy, as we supply VAC who are supplying US defence contractors IN NTH AMERICA..........As well as GM in NORTH AMERICA
The rare earth quantities are huge for both the EV sector and defence..........and we will supply to both via LCM and VAC
And with the competitive tension this could create for our tech and our products, there's no telling where the sp could head.
