Yes, BDI.....
Wind power is Germany’s most important renewable electricity source and projected to become the backbone of the country’s entire energy system in the shift away from fossil fuels. The country boasts one of the largest onshore wind power capacities in the world, which has driven efficiency gains and cost reductions in the technology for years already.Germany has been a leading market and incubator for onshore wind power throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, as eager investors and guaranteed state support helped bring the technology to scale. As of 2022, the country boasted the largest installed onshore wind capacity in Europe and the third largest globally.
Nearly 29,000 turbines with a cumulated capacity of 61 gigawatts (GW) were in operation across the country at the end of 2023. The annual rate of expansion has varied greatly throughout the past years. With a net expansion of about 5.3 GW, 2017 showed the strongest growth in capacity of any year so far.
So with such a prolific and dependance on wind power, both onshore and offshore, with many installations now reaching upgrade and/or renewal, don't you think Germany needs just as prolific a magnet recycling industry?
Already represented by Herauas and a few others, it is no where near big or extensive enough to recycle all magnets, and not the be penalised with the EU's mandate that allow no magnets to leave the EU.
And we are the only ones able to produce the full suite of RE's and heavies.
They are shifting their power generation to wind and Hydrothermal, and Their Auto industry alone could swallow anything any European recyclers could throw at it.
German wind turbines, written off and scrapped EV's, medical, hard-drives etc..etc... this is the market you want to get into.
And although their economy is taking a hit at the moment, the have massive industries which they will want to protect and keep established, they are not afraid to invest big and they do it the best way possible, not the cheapest or the easiest...like here...
So I would not be surprised to see government bodies like BDI come onboard and throw some cash around.
Exciting times indeed...
