Hi Mark HGO I think that we can be very confident that the UK Govt will put up all of the funding for the Belfast plant in order to secure a certain future for the UK car manufacturing industry.
As the process of recovering rare earths has been proven to work at the current plant in Belfast, the UK govt should be confident of it working at a scaled up plant in Belfast.
In addition there are likely to be further processing improvements still to be developed in the current plant.
The next important aspect is the number of plants to be built around the world either by IXR or under a licensing agreement I would imagine initially another 5 to 8 plants in Europe would be required and then USA/Canada and Mexico another 6 to 10 plants.
lf you consider that you still have all of South America, Japan, South Korea and Thailand as major auto manufacturing countries the potential for scaling up operations is likely to be 15 to 20 times what the initial plant will produce.
Personally I think the sky is the limit for IXR and interviews with the CEO and Chairman clearly demonstrates that they have ambitions to role out their RE recovery technologies around the world.
Think about what that might mean over the next 5 to 10 years with more and more REs required for electric cars, power storage and wind farms.
This is just the beginning!
