I dont for a minute think that they necessarily dont want to be involved with this, just that they are taking way too long, with too many delays in helpung to get this show on the road.
Having starting my working life working on British vehicles, I still marvel at how their engineering was ahead of its time, but also dispair at the application of it, with often sub-par manufacturing of parts. For example, Lucas wasnt known as The Prince of Darkness for no reason with their electrical components, which we would frequently replace with superior Bosch electricals. Unfortunately, this was rather emblematic of how Briain lost a significant part of their manufacturing. It wasnt just labour cost disadvantages, it was a slowness to recognise and implement change. Thatcher only ever attacked at the labour but not the other structures, enabling the situation that Trump alleges he wasnts to roll back in the US.
But, yes, let's there's much to admire about the Brits. Now let's hope their leadership puts a Spitefire production imperative to the fore, letting this Aussie company lead them into the modern dynamic.
