This comparison evaluates two competing technologies for converting Mixed Rare Earth Carbonate MREC) into separated rare earth oxides REOs Meteoric Resources' partnership with MTM Critical Metals using Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology versus IXR's Ionic Technologies' Multifunctional Amide Ionic Liquids (MAIL) technology.













Both technologies represent significant advances in MREC to REO processing, but occupy different positions on the development spectrum. MTM's FJH technology offers revolutionary potential with impressive initial results, while IXR's MAIL technology provides proven commercial capability with operational validation.

The comparison reveals that while both technologies address critical gaps in Western rare earth processing capability, IXR's MAIL technology currently offers superior commercial readiness and proven performance at demonstration scale, positioning it as the more immediate solution for MREC to REO conversion. Conclusion is that IXRs Ionic Technologies MAIL is a proven, flexible, and highly selective solvent extraction process that can produce 99.9% pure separated REOs directly from MREC or recycled magnets. MREC will soon be operational at demonstration scale, ready for commercial rollout for both Magnet and MREC, bottom line we have an enormous potential with our IP, the new technology in Separation and refining REOs into Separated high purity REOs, the market hasn't woken up to it.
