one troll has funding to produce MREC but currently have NO dedicated refinery to process and refine this product into separated rare earth oxides by 2027/28, the company’s strategy is to secure partnerships with external separation facilities, but this introduces uncertainty and risk until a fully independent, non-Chinese refining capacity is operational, at the moment No one in the west has that Capacity and the ones that do, have enough of their own product to refine.
They need a further $250M USD for that refinery, cost will keep on increasing as the years go by, as we all know there are complications in Refining MREC into separated REOs because there are 1000s of steps involved in that process (Lynas and MP Materials have had issues), but IXR's Ionic Technologies in the other hand will be producing light REOs Nd/Pr 350,000kg and Heavy REOs Dy/Tb 50,000kg way before them.
Ionic Technologies IPs can also process and refine MREC and RE Mining Concentrates into High Purity Separated REOs, that information will be available this year from Brazil, where Viridion Rare Earth Technologies will have a Pilot plants operating that will be processing MREC from VMMs Colossus Rare Earth Mining Project plus other projects, you never know we might have to process the Troll's MREC wouldn't that be a laugh
