Already happened. Germany announced recently, after deciding to close all nukes (dumbest idea I ever heard) and will close coal fired sooner. than they targetted. Previously, they planned to be carbon neutral and all renewables by 2050.
They woke up at start of Putin's (mis)adventure dazzled and befuddled that they could be held hostage (like yeah) to Russian gas and shifted to all renewables goal posts to 2035.
Closing all nukes to benefit renewables is like knocking down a perfectly functional front lounge room to then rebuild at three times the cost another one on the back porch.
Note to blockheads, nukes do not emit CO2, that white stuff you see going into the air is called condensing cooling water.
