You are correct, Ionic concentrates do not require "Cracking" and as I said : Cracking is part of the concentration process for Hard Rock ~ once the RE's are in a Carbonate/Sulphate solution the next step is Refining and is common to both. ie separating the mixture of 17 RE elements into individual Elements, Which even Lynas and MP are currently getting done in China.
