If Govts are worried about China holding them hostage to lithium, RE, nickel, graphite etc and they want these things to be clean and green (unlike Xi's mob), then a separate pricing mechanism needs to be set, and dirty Chinese material must be phased out of the equation. However govts are mostly reactionary, not proactive, so it may take years for it to develop.
