I am not doubting that there is money to be made in re-cycling magnets, but that Industry is at least another 5-10 years away. Most RE Electric motors/Generators have at least a 10-15 year life span and they were not manufactured in volume until 2018.
By the way I agree with you that Peak may be a lost cause now that Shenghe have their hooks into them; but Pensana is still the front runner to bring an actual Tier 1 RE 'Ore Reserve' online; note I did not use the word 'Possible Resource' which is the current classification at Makuuta.
I am not doubting that there is money to be made in re-cycling...
