They administer the ATF The Automotive Transformation Fund (ATF) is a funding programme created to support large-scale industrialisation. Up to £850 million of funding will be invested in developing a high-value end-to-end electrified automotive supply chain in the UK. The fund is highlighted as an important mechanism to reach targets in UK Government’s 10-Point Plan for a green industrial revolution and its Transport Decarbonisation Plan.

The UK’s strengths are broad-based and built on our world-class innovation expertise.
£4.5 billion announced at Autumn Statement for strategic manufacturing sectors from 2025 for 5 years.
Automotive: Over £2 billion is being made available for the automotive sector to support the manufacturing and development of zero emission vehicles, their batteries and supply chain.
Aerospace: £975 million is being made available for the aerospace sector support the development of energy efficient and zero-carbon aircraft technology.
And a collaborative R&D fund....
The UK does have a an advanced manufacturing plan to help co-ordinate and foster the auto, aerospace and defence sectors, with further funding and assistance.
As well as - New funding for domestic rare earth elements supply chains and recyclingInnovate UK’s Circular Critical Materials Supply Chains (CLIMATES) programme is committing £15 million towards recycling critical minerals, R&D investments, skills and engagement with international partners to improve the supply chain resilience of rare earth elements for permanent magnets in clean energy technologies. The first funding competition opened in Spring 2023. This builds on its £80 million investment into the Driving the Electric Revolution challenge supporting innovation in power electronics, electric machines and drives.
