It's a shame that due to a two-year delay, RBR Group Limited was not able to fully capitalize on a project. However, recent developments suggest that things are looking up for the company. Despite the lack of an official announcement from Total and its partners on the lifting of Force Majeure, RBR Group Limited has been making strides to prepare for the project's restart.
One of the company's key initiatives is the exposure of Tennant's Virtual Reality training systems to select Futuro staff. The company is also identifying necessary changes, including translation into Portuguese, to the VR modules currently available under license from Australian-based developers. Tennant is also hiring additional Portuguese-speaking staff in South Africa to bolster its team in both South Africa and Mozambique.
In addition, Tennant is in preliminary discussions with a payroll provider that has both South African and Mozambican operations. If negotiations are successful, this could result in a significant increase in revenue from this business unit of Tennant and Futuro.
RBR Group Limited is also revisiting its databases, updating them and seeking to build a workforce of local labor that can be readily deployed to contractors and subcontractors working on the Northern Mozambique projects, as well as supporting infrastructure. The company plans to use the Futuro Card as an integral value add to the database, providing up-to-date identification of the holder together with their skills qualification.
it's clear that training locals and ensuring local content are top priorities for both the government and the project developers to gain community buy-in and support in maintaining security and continuity of the construction activities once work resumes. While the delay may have been unfortunate for RBR Group Limited, the company's efforts show that it is positioning itself for success when the project finally restarts.
