    Hi Nemesis

    Cleaning up a bunch of tailings dams - scabby bloody things - has to be a good idea. Perhaps existing waste could be processed and then fed into BPaaS system if installed at an existing mine. No idea. Whatever solution they come up with, BHP and others will be more interested if it makes economic sense. Perhaps there's growing concern about the likelihood of failure for many existing tailings dams. BHP was part of the Sarmarco disaster in Brazil, still picking over the legal fallout.

    A couple of good general pieces about tailings dams. A lot will have already read these, I'm sure. Some stuff about the number of high-risk dams out there.

    As you noted, PWN is well ahead of the timeline for this contest and I expect good things to happen(if all is ok) elsewhere a lot sooner than this Chile-based contest is mooting.
