There must come a point at which companies decide that money spent on gas exploration is not money well spent. Governments don't like uncertainty and there's been a lot of that attached to gas supplies(see Russia\Putin). Countries will be making plans for gas use and that could well include an accelerated shift to renewable energy, especially since that fits nicely with LT goals aimed at climate change issues.
It won't affect the Shell FS. They're already on the pointy end of LT penalties they could do without. However, cost and energy-security might well provide a far quicker incentive for reduction of gas use than climate change ever managed.
Roll on the first aMES FS, please.
