Ahh the majors. They certainly do $value public opinion. Look no further than BHP Billiton last yearselling some Qld mines to WHC at a discount to get rid of coal! A more historical example was when BHP gaveaway its majority share in Ok Tedi to the PNGGovernment (to avoid the social and financial costs of environmental damage). So themajors will forgo financial benefits to avoid environmentalreparations BUT they will usually make a calculated decision! We can only hope Shell's calculus on brinetreatment falls in favour of PWN tech.
