Lucapa have just announced the full acquisition of the Merlin diamonds mine in the NT.
Whilst directly not having anything to do with Burgundy, what it will do is bring more spotlight to the Australian diamond exploration and mining sector.
Burgundy and Lucapa may be competing for exploration ground and investor capital but there are a lot of synergies in cross promoting an Australian diamond industry. Worldwide over 110 million carats of diamonds being produced annually and supply struggling to meet demand, they are not competitors in the market more complimentary to one another!
