“Chalmers lamented, however, that there were roadblocks around ushering more foreign investment into Australia compared to similarly structured economies, and said it was the job of government to make the country more palatable for investing.

“Other regimes, including in our region, they do a much better job of ‘concierging’ some of that investment, particularly in bigger projects that might involve federal approvals,” Chalmers said.

“We want to get much better at ‘concierging’ … particularly big energy projects.”
