No idea on tubing size, Mericans make a big deal about 5.5 vs 4.5 inch casing. It really makes very little difference, there is slightly higher friction during pumping operations in 4.5 but with added casing rating in 4.5 it makes it irrelevant. In other words you could modify a casing design and frac so that a 4.5 well pumps at higher rate and effective pressure than a 4.5 inch well.
IMO the love of 5.5 is mostly down to tool provider preference and engineers experience using them. The 4.5 tools are there, but American engineers lack experience with them in general.
Regarding tubing, it's much less of an issue in a dry gas well.
