Does well to keep the traffic up on HC, which im sure keeps the advertisers happy, Could it be paid by nefarious persons to manipulate a companies SP? maybe, but that would take investigative resources to confirm and the regulators are in short supply.
In the meantime it makes for an interesting case study into human manipulation.
