Got you qajjaq, just saw your edit and elaboration following, It now sounds very feasible that it could be the setting tool !!! As you say, why would they be at all concerned if it was just a bridge plug - intended to stay in place until all sections have been tested. I now have a much better understanding as to how this testing process is carried out, Thank you.
