With reference to the Next Investors' table of bear, base and bull amounts, I think a Base Case of about 2-2.5 mmscf/d is reasonable, but whether DD-2 would be capable of flowing at a stabilized rate exceeding 5 mmscf/d is questionable, in my opinion. I think >3 mmscf/d should be considered exceptional.
I am not trying to downplay the deep fractured coals reservoirs, but there's sure to be high degree of uncertainty in the production forecasts. The deep coals are completely different from the relatively shallow Nomgon sub basin coals. DD-2 deep coals will have already desorbed the gas due to high temperature and therefore the free gas which resides within the coal fractures and matrix will flow at quite a high rate initially, then decline to a stabilized rate. Negligible water production is expected in these coals. The big question is the magnitude of the stabilized rate?
