Im not sure who said it was dewatering fast, but as far as operating the wells goes, the water level controllers would have their PID settings altered on the back of geological modelling or at the very least based on how aggressive or steady they want to operate. Basics could be done on the fly by operators to maybe dewater more aggressively by lowering water level setpoints or to run on manual more often than not to force dewatering. Mostly you want to avoid that and avoid alot of restarts each day. It's hard on the gear and the coals from what I have been told. A water level set point can different alot across a field. Not every well is drilled to the same TD.

As far as what geological datasets and how much is needed I dont know. A CSG geological specialist could answer that but even then it will differ quite alot between different resources. Our specialist Greg would be someone to ask that kind of thing if it was possible. Theres a tonne of guesstimation for quite a while and they continually update their modelling as they go. Confidence comes from continually hitting a mark based on modelling and once they have proven that to themselves they would probably go to the auditors to certify and give them some risked certainties.

Maybe someone elese has better info on that than me.
