    I mentioned this before, and the key word is dispatchability. How do we get energy when and where we need it? Everyone knows we lose

    efficiency with transport and storage. The trick is getting power, in the exact amount when and where we need it. I think gas and coal do this best at the moment, - but politics dictates otherwise.

    So if gas and coal (the best vectors of storage and transport) are out - what is the next best vector? No one thinks this argument is being dictated by engineering, it's being dictated by politics. You are obviously very passionate about this @piwi33, and technically I've no doubt you're correct - but what is the best way to capture and store renewable energy and transport it to where it is required, that's the question.
