My gut instincts are deeply telling me that the offtake partner will ending up holding a % equity of our company (dilution is first thought, however -- logically for the long term we will see far more success being joined at the hip to a very successful manufacturer)
Someone discussed before that having a Japanese company have an equity share of our company allows the Japanese Government banks to provide Debt to us, which may help fund Stage 3.
Stage 3 funding - Prepayment, Equity Payment, Bank Debt.
It has been very long for these companies to still be fart assing around with samples and product specifications.
Things have been brewing, particularly with rumours of Japan visits. I think something is close and it's no longer about product but moreso the legality of a potential equity share.
Just thoughts, not necessarily facts.
