Yes, it is certainly happening! The big acceleration will occur when the economic tipping point arrives, which is not far off from what I can tell.. Then... Well lookout!
When we are faced with a new car purchase, and the purchase price as well as the total cost of ownership are less than the ICE equivalent, it will take off like a rocket. Perhaps only a few years away from that now.
The impact that will have on battery metal demand and pricing will be hard to comprehend.
As I've said many times, the Li price could double from here and only add less than $1000 to the price of a car. No problem, if it enables borderline profitable operations to produce to meet demand; and we know what that will do to the profits of operations that are already profitable !
Nothing but exciting times ahead!
Soooo many more mines needed as the EV penetration grows. It's not IF but WHEN !
And that is SOON
