There r a plethora of short term traders, be they retirees, funds and/or brokers that all readily step up to the plate and buy on expectation of the short term profit.

Perhaps AGY is to blame becos they have performed so well over the last couple of years and now have a reputation for achieving those targets and goals within the timelines they have set, hence some assurance to the short term trader that they will only need to have their cash tied up for the period of expectation.

When things start to become a little less certain timeline wise then they start to rely on less reliable sources of info including esoteric company statements that r there to provide guidelines to investors and not hard and fast trading periods for those with itchy fingers.

I will be extremely surprised in AGY don’t at least provide a project update at the end of this quarter or a little after given they have anncd such a guideline BUT don’t expect it to be earth shattering news.

I’m sure if u really need assurance things r progressing according to plan an email to JZ would quell ones doubts but imo it’s really just pestering management needlessly unless u have more serious concerns.

We get a plethora of info from many sources on how things r going almost day to day, and certainly weekly, so is it really necessary for the company to continually annc absolutely to every anncd timeframe ?

This is not to even take into account recent comments of project fast tracking and it be connected to discussions with the preferred OTer. If this was to take place it might explain the longer time taken for an OT to be agreed upon if any stage 2/3 finance was to be incorporated.

This is not to say that it’s likely this will occur. But if the company wishes to keep entertaining such fast tracking negotiations and potentially include it in further annmnts then even just having the capacity to mention it in an annmnt due to such negotiations might increase the length of time taken for an OT annmnt. It seems to be a potential project timescale changing event that fits with the companies process
up-scaling statements, that being if u can produce at stage 2 output why not stage 3.

But then it’s the old adage that if Ur not prepared to wait then there’s always the exit, that is unless it seems Ur with the ANZ trading platform atm
