And in the past (as with the gas issue) they have notified the shareholders of delays. The SP got smashed for that (plenty of conspiracies arose from that event), but they got it done in the end - there was nothing sinister going on. They should only issue an explanation if something major has happened that will cause a month plus delay. If it is just a delay due to the off-taker doing their due diligence, then I don't see why an announcement would need to be made.
An announcement would only add to the conspiracy theories in my opinion. If things are still on track but time is just getting stretched a little bit then they should focus on reaching the company objectives, not giving day traders bait to feed on.
We are investing in mining spec stocks, things won't always go according to plan time-wise. That is just the risks that we haven chosen to expose ourselves to.
