Hardly an outrageous figure but being "higher than expected" it's enough for the shonks and shysters to sell everything down and create mayhem.
The impact on Super Funds is immense especially for those who are retired.
How can you plan anything in retirement when you have such massive swings in the markets. Up 10% one year, down 20% the next: even this year has seen all the gains wiped out and your everyday balanced fund is probably negative after today.
What is needed is some reasonable consistency in returns, not the roller coaster ride of the last two years.
