Everything comes down to circle of competence and risk appetite IMHO. If I didn’t know what bitcoin was or had no risk appetite, and most importantly no spare cash I wouldn’t buy it. Lots of clothes have been invented and trends have changed many times. In hindsight many things may seem a good idea.
Someone may have thought buying Race at $1 was a good idea just like others at $2 or $3, or but here today at 80c. Only time will either confirm or deny their genius! Btw, there is always opportunity cost.
