Can someone help me understand how lowering the average cost mean anything apart from just keeping personal score of how much % returns one achieved? From a tax perspective we pay based on matching buy and sell orders for minimum CGT. Not asking for financial advice but trying to understand how investors think about achieving lower average costs. Thanks.
