apologies for posting this non RAC info on this thread , but I held a chin up record many moons ago (44). Couple of tips to improve:
1. Don't just do negs, but practice active hang, which means pull your scapula down and back.
2. Then incorporate jumping to the top position and holding 5 seconds then do your negatives
3. Ensure your gripping the bar with the fleshy part of your hand, don't use chalk until you can do 20
4. Engage tight core, legs straight (not tucked like a lot of people do) and point feet forward and toes upwards
5. alternate sets with chin ups as well as pull ups to activate biceps and the smaller parts of the lats
6. practice Inverted rows
7. Unfortunately to improve pull ups need to focus on these m movements at least 2PW
7. And the big tip... loose weight, face plus acceleration = more reps
Once you can do > 10, there's a few more tips we can incorporate such as lower yourself as fast as possible etc etc
