That is because there is always a lot going on at Race. We are all lucky to have a really skilled and hardworking group of researchers at Race and they have not been sitting around. You can all expect to hear about what they have been doing over the rest of 2025 and beyond.
The current macro environment is about as bad as it has been for biotech since the GFC in 2009. We have both international and Australian specific factors at play right now that makes it very hard for all biotechs that are not at the approval stage. Luckily we don't need to raise cash and both the market and Race will be in a very different state by the time we do.
On thing that has come up in discussion with some shareholders is there appears to be an unrealistic expectation around when the first patient will be dosed. It takes around a month to get a patient from initial interest in the trial to their first dose as they have to go through a whole series of screening steps. Also around 50% of patients that express interest are found to not be eligible. It is not as simple as a patient saying they want to participate and the next day dosing.
