Not sure if you are referring to the mood of the board, or the generality of shareholders?
a) If its the Board: RAC has a price, so it really is up to the buyers to decide how much they really want to buy RAC out. The Board will have to follow the rules on when to take an offer to shareholders to vote on, and at that point, it really does not matter that a certain Mr or Mrs X wants RAC to keep going so they can reach 20X, or whatever X! The vote will carry the day. Some will want to take the win, and put it somewhere else.
b) As for the mood of sharehoders - Hunterr has a target at which he will exit, and Rhino wants to stay on til I dont know when: So IMO, thats reasonably reresentative of the mood of shareholders. Its one man/woman for themself.

It has now been confirmed that Pete was talking about rectifying the situation that he has no RAC shares - nothing to do with the stuff we all thought he was referring to!
But - thats not to say your speculation is off! Who knows.
