Not sure why but I feel like now is a good time to say thanks to DT and the team. Kinda frustrated at the share price not moving much, but I’m as confident as ever, race is just an exceptional stock.

I got into investing in early 2020. A small part of it was to make money, but mostly I like the “game” of business and just find it fascinating.

I quickly stumbled across race, thanks to a post from the legend wombat on propertychat. My approach to investing is basically: be good at spotting people who know their stuff (even online). I use my gut more than spreadsheets to make investment decisions and works surprisingly well. That’s why RAC really appealed to me. Other companies were a mystery I couldn’t get into. And boring.

But back then Dr T and Phil would make videos, which seemed no bullshit (despite the $ potential being insane). The best thing was that anyone could ask a question here and the company would answer it. It was really surprising to me how rare this was in the modern age.

Shortly after I discovered race, it was boom times for many biotechs. That was fun but didn’t last for a bunch of reasons. I remember my shock at seeing the video when DT announced his departure and basically talked about irreconcilable differences. Race had been going through a rough patch but that felt like the rug had been pulled out from under me.

I didn’t know what to make of it and certainly didn’t expect he’d be back. I stuck to my guns (probably a bit of sunk cost fallacy too).

Now, after much patience, it feels like we have reached a time when the price could explode any day now. The science side of it is still as promising as ever and the race team keep delivering so well.

So this post is just to say thanks. Hopefully I get to say thanks again later for the money you made for us. But you deserve a lot of praise already. Race seriously helped me get into investing and I’ve really enjoyed the ride so far. Thanks for working so hard, doing things differently, taking care of shareholders and communicating so well. You seem to be an incredibly clever bunch of scientists too!
