Unless you are trader the random movement of the SP is of little concern to the average investor. We have a known very price sensitive news event (the Israeli trial results) due at any time. If you think the results are going to be positive you will want to hold/buy, if you think they are going to be negative you will want to sell. Depending who is in the market on a particular day (the optimists or the pessimists) this will determine if the SP goes up and down.
One thought that has occurred to me is the longer it takes to get the results the more likely the results are to be positive. It doesn’t take much time to write up a report where every patient didn’t respond, but if you have positive results then you have to go into all the details in the report.
