I have had people seriously tell me they missed the boat on RAC after it ran to 8c. If there is one universal from my conversations with investors since I joined RAC is that at every price point people have told me they love the story and can see the potential, but they felt they missed the boat.

It seems near impossible for people to invest on the basis of the facts in front of them without anchoring to past prices. This occurs from the smallest investors to the largest, if anything it is more common with large investors who really should know better. Very interesting psychology, but it does explain why stocks often don’t immediately jump in price when the fundamentals change.
