The problem with the delta variant, and perhaps future variants that improve on it. Is that it develops much quicker, and people have a much higher viral load earlier on. So even if you have a vaccine, though it may help mount a defence against it, but in some cases it will overwhelm your immune system. If you are willing to play that lottery and do well, then please keep a distance from others who may not be as fortunate.
