Sunday arvo, Nelson Bay, overcast and windy,
Locked down right across the state, Broken Hill to Sydney.
Gladys on the television, tryin' to be upbeat,
Vaccinations on the up, but cases won't retreat.
Premiers across the country, struggling to agree.
Throw 'em in the octagon without a referee.
Anyway, just want to say, although I'm sometimes bored,
There's many grand opinions here, some heeded, some ignored.
My judgement won't be justified, till further down the road.
But my deep appreciation to who I think you are, are owed.
The depth of understanding, the research freely shared.
No excuse to say, but oh, I didn't know, I'm unprepared.
And what a story, if unfolded, as we hope it will.
Advancement, hope and treatment, for many that are ill.
Share price in the doldrums lately, for how long isn't known,
but all the best for everyone, and the dice we've thrown.
Anyhoo, that's got me through, an hour or two of drear,
I'm gonna put the footy on, and go and crack a beer.
