Yes, absolutely, the patents go hand-in-hand with the orphan drug designation. There will always be gaps and it is probably impossible to cover them all. Hopefully Race can cover enough that it is financially unprofitable for another company to attempt to work around everything they have in place. As you said, the arrangement with Prof Chen gives confidence in that regard.
