My Accountant has always told me that the Annual Fees and Paperwork required for a SMSF COMPLIANCE, is often not worth it unless you are putting in like $200k
However that was a blank statement he made, and did not factor in potential differences in gains you may make by doing your own investment choices vs the Balanced investment options of an Industry Fund.
But yeah, he did say the Fees and paperwork were onerous.
