I'm also with ESUPERFUND. 10 day setup that was mostly straight forward. Rollover funds transfer via Superstream (as pointed out in a previous post) and hits your trading account overnight (for me at least!). Relatively smooth setup. I partially rolled over a modest chunk of my industry super into the SMSF to have a bit of fun with the spec stocks like RAC.
If I had been a bit more organised and not delayed the setup of my SMSF, I would have held RAC shares in it sooner and be able to use this structure to participate in the SSP. I bought retail instead....
$9k is light on, but if your employer super contributions are enough to cover the annual fees plus some, then it might be feasible. Best to seek professional advice!
