I deposited an AUD cheque from Computershare (a SPP refund too) with ASB just before Xmas.
There’s a special form to fill in but AFAIK NZ banks will accept these.
There are often low skilled staff at the retail branch who are not familiar with this and might be telling you they won’t accept them?
