One of the producers quit in August and left last week. It's currently scheduled to be playing in unknown theatres in the Central Coast of NSW, and Central and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
The lights are dimmed, very dim. And all of the news comes from underground, independent outlets.
The official trailer is sh!t, but every time it comes up in a search on the dark web or in Arthouse cinema circles, the eggheads say this is the greatest show of all time. The original backers are out. Many of the investors who came in to replace them are sitting on losses. Who's making this movie? Is it Wim Wenders? Is that why it's taking so long? We've been sitting in the dark for 3 hours and nothing's happened.
Meanwhile, it could be destined to be picked up by the big boys to become this season's blockbuster "feel-good-hit-of-the-summer", slated for nationwide release (if not this season, then next season, or the season after, or the season after that, or ...).
This decade's "Full Monty"? Or "Maverick"? (scheduled for release June 25th 2020, before finally coming out in May 2022 to become one of the highest grossing movies of all time ...)
