If the institution isn't going to be buying shares on-market, thereby pushing up the share price, what is the point of having another institution or two on the register? One look at IMU will show you that having multiple institutions "on-board" is no cure for an ailing share price (and may even exacerbate it). Having a new party on the register to hold millions of shares just for the sake of it is not achieving anything at all.

If we do want more institutions on-board, the right way to do it is to have them understand the story so well that that they realise they need to snap up every share they can at current prices and higher due to how valuable they will be in a year or two. No doubt this is not easy to do, hence the difficulty so far, but I don't believe now is the time to give up trying. If you need to issue them millions of shares at a steep discount to get them on-board, it means they don't believe your story or they're not the right institution, or both.

Look at what's happening at NEU... 40-odd million less SOI than RAC, cracked the $1 billion in MC, and reports of brokers calling around to larger holders trying to secure decent parcels of shares for institutions to buy. That's the way to do it.
