Fortunately, for Race there is a relatively minimal number of shares (less than 170m) and it is tightly held. Only 244 parties own 62.6% (nearly 100m shares). ...and with the buyback program, the SP has been stable at around $2 per share.
This makes it relatively difficult for shorters to have too much influence. i.e. there are easier stocks to short that require less money on the table.
With the ultimate end game of selling or licencing Zantrene, it seems we don't have to worry too much about the orphan period before going to production and generating revenue, a period which shorters seem to like.
With all the planned trial results to be released to market, I am looking forward to how the next 18 months plays out.
