wonder if I can add a new variable into a buy out price.
looking at similar transactions in the past, what was the highest % premium that BP was willing to pay.
for example -
abbvie (abb) bought pharamacyclics (pbc) for $21b.
pbc traded around $117 per share before the transaction. four years before the transaction it was trading at $5 a share.
the transaction was for $261 per share. I.e. a +\- 100% premium.
my layman conclusion is that for a block buster deal to occur the sp must start to move or a transaction date must be further in the further, if it would be huge.
