Echoing this post, so many ways that blood donation products can help people for various conditions including cancer.
As a solid tumour patient wasn’t really expecting to need a transfusion but received a blood transfusion today (2.5 hrs) to give todays chemo a helping hand. Made for a very long day in a treatment chair with annoying canula in my wrist.
Was fairly apprehensive as had never received a transfusion before. Turned out to be straightforward and had no side effects from the transfusion. Felt okay during the chemo and blood infusions, although by end of day was fairly tired - a mix of time in chair and side effects of pain and related meds.
A big vote of thanks to those of you both willing and able to donate blood.
