I think there’s confusion if the first 6 from phase 1, dose escalation count in the first 9 for phase 2. If not then we can’t conclude anything yet,as KB said, It will only be stopped for futility if no response in first 9. Since they've said 3 in phase 2 I’m assuming first 6 don’t count. So we may only know of 3 being treated at time of update.
Now if at least one of the first 9 show a response it continues and recruits an extra 8. Now, I think given previous trial and phase 1 results, it’s quite probably there has already been at least 1 response and my guess is the Sheba article may be in part a promotion for awareness to get the extra 8.
if 3 patients respond this might bring an early end to trial.
